3 Tips For Getting The Best Deals At Clothing Stores

If you are on a tight budget but you are looking for ways to improve your look, you might be thinking about heading to your local department store. While sticker shock is a very real problem, making the appropriate changes can completely transform your shopping experience. Here are three tips for getting the best deals at department stores near you.

1. Add Yourself To Their Email List Oftentimes, stores send out daily, weekly, or quarterly emails alerting their customers of the best new deals. However, you might miss those crucial details if you aren't on their email list. Visit their website and add yourself to their email list to find great deals. Oftentimes, you may receive a one-time promo code for online discounts or enjoy sneak peeks of upcoming sales.

2. Time Your Shopping Trips Many department stores lower prices or clear out merchandise at certain times of the year, such as at the end of the fiscal quarter or at the end of the season. Before you go shopping, think carefully about where you are in the month or season, and try to time your trips to take full advantage of those sales. Quarters end March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31.

Also, keep in mind that the people with the authority to lower prices are often working during the day and that recently discounted merchandise will go quickly when it hits the shelves. Try to shop during the day for the best deals. When you are in the stores, talk with employees as much as possible to get a feel for upcoming promotions.

3. Read the Business News When businesses change, it can dramatically impact the price of their merchandise. To stay on top of which businesses have new ownership or may be going out of business, read the local and national business news every day. Be mindful of which businesses are experiencing hardship so you can watch out for great sales. Keep in mind that new ownership can also change things, as owners may decide to clear out entire categories of products or rebrand the merchandise, leading to great sales.

Remember, if you don't find anything during a normal shopping trip, don't give up. Visit stores regularly to check out new items, look for new items added to sales and clearance areas, and to talk with employees about the next big thing. With the right attention to detail and a focus on the things that matter, you can enjoy a superior shopping experience. Visit a department store like Independence Center near you.
