Setting Up A Donation Box With The Right Products

If you would like to set up a donation box for a charity or worthy cause, then you want to set it up in a way that ensures that you are going to tempt as many people as possible to donate. You also want to make it noticeable, but make sure that it is also safe from criminals who would see the box as an easy way to get their hands on some accessible cash. When you go to set up a donation box, here are some of the things that you should know.

Choose the right candies to put near the donation box

When it comes to choosing the right things to draw attention to your box, you want to put plenty of thought into this. One thing you want to do is try to go with colorful and bright candies. This is due to the fact that the colorful candies will help pull a person's attention toward them more than a bland colored product. You should also consider going with a chewable candy that both kids and adults will be able to enjoy. This way, you'll find that the candy products are more tempting and the more a person takes, for themselves and for their kids, the more donations you can expect to be put in the donation box.

Make it clear how much of a donation you would like to see put in the box

If you don't specify an amount that you would like someone to put into the donation box when they take a candy, then you may find that a lot of people use the box as a way to get rid of the pennies in their pockets and purse. Write the preferred donation amount in thick, dark, and clear writing where it can be immediately seen. Depending on the donation box products you buy, this could be placed on boxes themselves or next to them.

Set the donation box in plain sight where it can be noticed and watched

A good place to set the donation box is on a counter where employees will always have it within clear view but where customers can also see it when they approach the counter for help or to pay their bill. When choosing which part of the counter to put it in, you may want to choose a part that's further from the doors. This extra space can act as a deterrent for someone thinking of grabbing the box and fleeing. Another thing you can do is to somehow affix the box in place by using a durable chain and lock, if possible.
