Considering A Custom Graduation Stole? Factors To Consider

When you are about to graduate from an academic program you have worked for years to complete, you want the experience to be as special and memorable as possible. The experience of walking in a graduation ceremony represents a major milestone in your life and is one that you will want to look back on fondly for may years to come. Because of this, you may be considering ways to personalize the experience and make yourself stand out from the crowd. A custom graduation stole may be the answer you are looking for. Get to know some of the factors to consider when you plan to wear a customized graduation stole for your gradation ceremony so you can decide if this is the right choice for you.

Pay Attention to Your School's Graduation Dress Code

Many schools and universities have rules regarding what you can and cannot wear during the graduation ceremony. Some schools are more strict than others about both enforcing and setting such dress codes.

No matter what design you plan to place on your custom graduation stole, you want to first thoroughly read over your school's graduation dress code. If custom graduation stoles are not mentioned in the dress code and rules, talk to your adviser or the person in charge of the graduation gown distribution or the ceremony as a whole just to make sure that you will not be asked to remove your custom stole on the day of graduation.

Taking these steps will ensure that you do not get your hopes up and invest your money in a custom graduation stole and then be unable to wear it on your big day. It will also help to ensure that any customizations you choose will still fall within the rules your school has set.

Choose Your Customized Designs Carefully

If you get the go-ahead to design a custom graduation stole for yourself, you will want to be very deliberate and careful about choosing the additions you make to your stole. Is there an activity that you were involved in during your years in school like a club or sport that meant a great deal? Do you want to celebrate your heritage with the flags of the countries you come from?

Whatever choice you make and personal attribute you wish to show off, make sure you do so respectfully and carefully. You do not want any offensive imagery on your stole nor do you want to choose anything that is not representative of you and your achievements. If you are an honor's student, part of any national academic societies, or a part of Greek life on campus, these are excellent choices for your stole customization.

Keeping these tips in mind, you can be sure that you look your best and like your most authentic self on your graduation day.
